Introducing Bundles: A Game-Changer in Load Planning

In the dynamic world of logistics and freight management, efficiency and organization are paramount. We’re thrilled to unveil a new feature in our load planning software: Bundles. This innovative tool is set to transform how logistics professionals approach the organization and optimization of cargo, making the process more streamlined than ever before.

What Are Bundles?

Bundles represent a powerful concept in load planning. Imagine being able to group various cargoes into a single, manageable unit; that’s exactly what Bundles allow you to do. Whether it’s full pallets containing multiple cartons or master cartons packed with inner pieces, Bundles enable you to consolidate these items into a singular entity. This not only simplifies the planning process but also enhances the efficiency of space utilization within containers and transport vehicles.

The Challenge It Solves

One of the perennial challenges in freight management is the effective organization of cargoes of different sizes and volumes. Traditional load planning often treats each item as a separate entity, leading to potential space wastage and sub-optimal container fills. Additionally, tracking multiple small items individually can be a logistical nightmare. Bundles tackle these issues head-on by allowing users to group items together, treating them as a single unit for easier management and optimization.

Key Features

  • Consolidation: Group multiple cargoes into a single Bundle, simplifying management and tracking.
  • Flexibility: Create Bundles that suit your specific needs, whether it’s a pallet loaded with cartons or a container filled with various products.
  • Space Optimization: Enhance load planning by optimizing the space used within containers and transport vehicles, reducing empty space and potentially cutting shipping costs.
  • Customization: Tailor the composition of each Bundle based on cargo characteristics, ensuring that space and weight are utilized most effectively.
  • Visualization: Our software provides a visual representation of how Bundles fit within containers or trucks, making it easier to plan and adjust as necessary.

How It Works

Creating a Bundle is straightforward and intuitive. Simply use the “Bundling” column of the cargoes. From there, you can specify the length, width, height, weight, number of inner pieces as well as other cargo properties like stackability and orientations. Once created, Bundles can be manipulated as a single unit, streamlining the load planning process.

In the below example we have a SKU which is 360x20x2 cm, and we want to load 200 pcs. We have also enabled bundling for this SKU, where a pack (360x80x80 cm) consists of 160 pcs. The result will then be a full pack of 160pcs + 40 loose pieces.

Bundled and loose goods

You can also specify to allow for partial bundles, in this case the tool will also load the remaining 40pcs as a pack/bundle but make sure the weight of it has been reduced accordingly.

**Also keep in mind that this works equally well through the API which means you can connect it to your own ERP / WMS.

The Benefits

  • Efficiency: Save time and effort by managing grouped cargoes as one unit.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Optimize container space to potentially reduce the number of containers needed, lowering shipping costs.
  • Simplicity: Simplify the load planning process, making it more manageable and less prone to errors.

Embrace the Future of Load Planning

The introduction of Bundles marks a significant milestone in the evolution of load planning software. By embracing this feature, logistics professionals can look forward to a more organized, efficient, and cost-effective way of managing cargoes. We believe Bundles will set a new standard in the industry, and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on our users’ operations.

Stay ahead of the curve and revolutionize your load planning process with Bundles. It’s not just about moving cargo; it’s about moving forward. Welcome to the future of freight management!
