Load settings

Load settings control how the calculation engine packs your cargo. Sometimes you might want to adjust the defaults in order to better suit your requirements.

They are accessed and customized from the Setup view, which opens a dialog with five tabs.

The five tabs

Tab	What it controls
Primary	Everything about how cargo is packed into your main equipment — error margin, stacking limits, loading style, routing, center of gravity and shipment grouping
Secondary	The same parameters, but applied only to preloaded pallets and boxes, so the two stages of a nested load plan can behave differently
Custom rules	Business logic for specific cargo and containers, expressed as selectors and conditions
Segregation table	Which classes of cargo may not share the same equipment
Cost function	An additional cost per loaded container, so the engine can optimize for goals beyond utilization

Which one do you need?

• Changing how tightly or safely cargo is stacked — Primary, under Stacking.
• Cargo behaves correctly in the container but wrongly on the pallet — Secondary.
• A rule that applies to certain cargo only, not the whole load list — Custom rules.
• Two cargo types that must never travel together — Segregation table.
• The result is efficient but not the cheapest for your operation — Cost function.

Settings apply to the load plan you are working on. To reuse a configuration across load plans, save it as a load preset.
