Secondary load settings

Secondary load settings take the same parameters as the primary settings, but they apply only to preloaded hold types — the pallets, boxes and cases that cargo is loaded into before that unit is loaded into a container or trailer.

They are the second tab of the Load settings dialog, reachable from the Setup view.

When you need them

The two stages of a nested load plan often want different behaviour. A common example is loading cargo onto pallets and then loading those pallets into a trailer:

• On the pallet you usually want to build layer by layer, so the stack stays even and stable — that is Load from bottom up.
• In the trailer you usually want to load front to back, filling the space toward the doors.

Setting a loading style on the primary settings alone would apply it to both stages. The secondary settings let the two differ.

The same applies to the other parameters: allowed overhang, max stacking height and the rest can all be stricter on a pallet than in the container that carries it.

If you are not preloading anything, the secondary settings have no effect on your load plan.
